Just finished listening. Regarding crossing the line, wondered if you've seen the trailers for Naughty Bear (http://xbox360.ign.com/objects/054/054735.html) yet. It looks like a Deadhead's dream crossed with Manhunt.

Anyway, more feedback later... liked the discussion topics on this show Smile lots of food for thought.

well..

Good show,

I respectively disagree with almost everything mentioned involving heavy rain. Not only is this the most gorgeous game ever laid eyes on... i found the story engrossing up until the last moment. Every chapter was just as ridiculously well crafted as the chapter before it...

ah...and the music is beyond beautiful.

I believe Quantum theory and David cage have delivered on their promises and i truly feel heavy rain will be remembered for years to come. Every single person i have been able to show this game to has been absolutely awestruck.

I do agree that at times the controls weren't as responsive as i would have liked them to be....but it never detracted from my personal enjoyment. The pure ambition and craft in every inch of this game is unreal.

just my thoughts,
have a great one
morgan

Another fun show team modcast, thanks for answering my question (I'll be sure to include my name next time). You guys really found a great balance between the four of you and the show whizzed by in what seemed like minutes. Great stuff as always, thanks for posting.

Another great episode!

I agree on the points about Heavy Rain.

A game that have multiple of different routes and endings usally make strong stretchings of the story, which can cause a lackluster of satisfaction completing a playthrough. Heavy Rain is a game which is built up on story, so it will definately have strong repercussions.

Another problem with Heavy Rain is unclarified choices that pops up under certain situations. I'll mark my example as a possible spoiler.

Spoiler:

In a scene where the FBI agent was aiming with his firearm at possible suspect in the apartment filled with christianity refences. The choices were either press R1 or any other of the choices. It was unclear that R1 was the button to fire the your gun.

It could have been tagged with a description atleast.

One final note is that I've read that Quantic Dream doesn't have any plans to continue games based on serial-killers. Heavy Rain was supposivily mark the end of their triology (the previous two, Omikron: The Nomad Soul and Fahrenheit). And the company is looking in new frontiers. I read this on Kotaku or Destructoid a while back just after the game was released.
Sidenote: I hope I haven't got it wrong. Embarassed

Anyhow, I must say again, a great show. I'm looking forward to future episodes and also try to get my gamer friends to listen this modcast. Very Happy

Great episode, guys! I'm glad you guys decided to keep the show going because these last few episodes have been fantastic!

I think you guys might want to consider extending the "hype train" to different forms of media to keep it going fresh. The last couple weeks Gravehound hasn't been real hyped for any game in particular, maybe he might be excited about a new movie coming out, or a new book? Same goes for the rest of you, if there isn't anything coming up in the next couple of weeks to get your gaming blood flowing, maybe something else out there has you interested.

Otherwise, keep the show going strong. It's always a pleasure listening to the four of you Smile
